Privacy Policy
Ever Teleprompter is built to work on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what the app touches and what it does not.

Summary
Ever Teleprompter is a local-first application. It has no user accounts, no login, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, no advertising, and no backend server operated by us.
We do not collect, receive, or store any personal data. Your scripts, drafts, reading positions, settings, and recorded video stay on your Android device unless you choose to share or export them. English Voice Follow runs locally; other languages or automatic fallback may use Android's selected speech service, as explained below.
What we collect
Nothing is sent to Ever Teleprompter or to a server operated by us. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any account identifiers
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data
- Usage analytics, event telemetry, or crash reports
- The contents of your scripts, or any audio or video
Data stored on your device
To do its job, the app saves the following in its own private storage on your device:

Android backup of app data is disabled, so this information is not copied off the device by the system backup service.

All three are optional. Time and Manual scroll modes work with no permissions granted at all. You can revoke any permission at any time in Android's app settings.
Speech recognition
This is the one place where data may leave your device, so it is worth being precise about it.
Voice Follow mode does not record or store microphone audio. It processes live audio only while voice following is active and uses the recognized words to keep your place in the script.
- For English, Ever Teleprompter includes a bundled streaming model that processes speech entirely on your device and does not require a network connection. The reading view reports "On-device recognition" while it is active.
- For other languages, or if the bundled English model or audio path cannot start, the app uses Android's selected speech recognition service. That service is operated by a third party, may transmit live audio over the network, and is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
Ever Teleprompter has no visibility into, and no control over, what a third-party recognition service does with the audio Android passes to it. If this matters for your material, use the bundled English model or choose Time or Manual mode instead — neither of those modes sends speech to a recognition service.
Recognition stops when Ever Teleprompter leaves the foreground. The app never listens in the background.
Camera and recordings
Record Mode shows the front-camera preview and, when you start a recording, saves an MP4 file containing front-camera video to Movies/EverTeleprompter on your device. A microphone audio track is included only when Audio Record Mode is enabled.
These files are written locally. They are not uploaded, not streamed, and not accessible to us. The camera preview is not transmitted anywhere. What you do with the resulting files is entirely up to you.
The video editor
The built-in editor works on video already on your device — either something you just recorded, or a file you pick yourself with Choose video. Editing and exporting are performed entirely on the device. No footage is uploaded for processing, and the app only ever opens the specific file you select.
Files and Google Drive
You can import .txt, .md, .pdf, .doc, and .docx files through Android's system document picker. The picker may show files stored locally or in Google Drive, if Drive is installed and signed in on your device.
Ever Teleprompter only receives the single file you explicitly select, and only reads its text. It has no standing access to your storage or your Drive account, and it does not browse, index, or upload anything. Exporting a script writes a .txt file to a location you choose; sharing a script hands its text to Android's share sheet, after which the receiving app's own policy applies.
Third-party services
Ever Teleprompter contains no advertising networks, no analytics SDKs, and no crash-reporting SDKs. The only third parties that can be involved are the ones Android itself brings in when you use a feature:
- Your device's selected speech recognition service, when used for a non-English language or automatic fallback (see above)
- Any app you pick in Android's document picker or share sheet, such as Google Drive
- Google Play, if you install the app from the Play Store, which is subject to Google's own policies
This website is served as static files. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party scripts or fonts, and makes no requests to any other domain. Standard web server access logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) are retained briefly for security and troubleshooting, and are not used to profile visitors.
Children
Ever Teleprompter is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Your choices and rights
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control on your own device:
- Delete content: remove scripts and folders in the app; delete recordings from Movies/EverTeleprompter
- Delete everything: clear the app's data, or uninstall the app
- Revoke access: turn off Microphone or Camera in Android's app permission settings at any time
- Avoid third-party processing: use Time or Manual mode, or install an on-device speech recognizer
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or a US state with comprehensive privacy legislation, the rights those laws grant you (access, deletion, portability, objection) are satisfied by the fact that no personal data is ever collected or processed by us. We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not have any.
Security
App data is kept in Android's private per-app storage, which the operating system isolates from other apps. Because nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server-side store of your information to breach. Keeping your device updated and locked remains the most effective protection for the material you write and record.
Changes to this policy
If the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date at the top revised. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
